Amy Estes is writer, educator, and storyteller living in Sacramento, California. In 2023, she was selected as a Lambda Literary Fellow, and has attended the Kenyon Review Writer’s Workshop as both a participant and a Peter Taylor Fellow. Amy’s writing has been featured on The Rumpus, McSweeney’s and elsewhere. She is currently seeking representation for her memoir, Closet Weirdo, about her experience growing up as a closeted queer kid in an Evangelical Christian community, and working on a novel. In July 2025, she will graduate with her MFA in fiction and nonfiction from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
